1. The seller

  • Szedlmayer Ildikó, sole trader (egyéni vállalkozó, e.v.)
  • Registered office and postal address (also for complaints and returns): 1036 Budapest, Evező utca 6., Hungary
  • Registration number: 55812344; register kept by the Hungarian tax authority, Nemzeti Adó- és Vámhivatal (from 1 January 2027: the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry)
  • Tax number: 57210690-1-41; EU VAT number: HU57210690
  • Email: info@ildiwaterpolo.com
  • Phone: +36 70 337 5411
  • Hosting provider: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA; support@cloudflare.com

2. Scope and acceptance

These general terms and conditions of sale apply to orders placed in the ildiwaterpolo.com online shop (the “website”), between the seller and the buyer.

By placing an order, the buyer accepts these terms. The terms can be read, saved and printed at any time before ordering, and we also attach them as a text file to the order confirmation email.

The contract is concluded in the language chosen on the website (Hungarian, English, German, Italian, Slovak, Czech, Dutch, Polish or Romanian). The versions in languages other than Hungarian are translations; if they differ, the Hungarian text prevails. This does not affect the rule that an unclear term in a contract with a consumer is interpreted in the consumer’s favour.

The contract is not a written contract and we do not file it separately. The order data are stored by Stripe’s payment system and in the seller’s records; the buyer receives the order details and these terms in the confirmation email. We have not subscribed to any code of conduct.

How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.

3. Products and prices

The website sells Szedlmayer Ildikó’s water polo exercise books (Book 1 and Book 2, in several language editions). The main characteristics of the books (language, content, number of pages, laminated waterproof pages, recommended age) are described on the product pages. The books are printed to order.

Prices are in euro, and the buyer pays in euro. The seller is exempt from VAT as a small business (alanyi adómentes) and charges no VAT: the prices shown are final prices. On the Hungarian pages, forint amounts are approximate, at the European Central Bank reference rate.

Postage is a flat fee per order, whatever the number of books:

  • Hungary: €10
  • other member states of the European Union: €14
  • the other countries listed in section 6: €35

Postage is shown on the product pages and in the cart, and the cart shows the total to pay before payment. We charge no other costs, including for the payment method. For parcels sent outside the European Union, the destination country may charge customs duties, taxes or handling fees, which the buyer pays; we can’t tell their amount in advance.

If an obviously wrong price appears on the website (for example €0 or a fraction of the usual price), we will let the buyer know; the buyer can then order at the correct price or withdraw from the order free of charge.

The Dutch editions are sold by our partner in the Netherlands; they are ordered from the partner by email, and the partner’s terms apply to those orders. For custom editions made for clubs, we contract on the basis of an individual quote, under a separate agreement.

4. How ordering works

  1. On a product page, the buyer chooses the edition and quantity and adds it to the cart.
  2. In the cart, the buyer can check and change quantities, remove items, and choose the delivery country. The cart shows the postage and the total.
  3. The “Pay” button takes the buyer to Stripe’s secure checkout page, where they enter their email address, name, delivery address (in the chosen country), phone number and card details.
  4. The buyer can correct any input errors in the cart and on Stripe’s checkout page at any time before submitting the payment, and can go back from the checkout page to the cart.
  5. The contract is concluded when the buyer submits the payment on Stripe’s checkout page with the button indicating the obligation to pay, and the payment succeeds.
  6. After a successful payment, the website shows the order summary, and we confirm the order by email. If the confirmation does not arrive within 48 hours, the buyer is released from their order.

5. Payment and invoice

The buyer pays on Stripe’s checkout page by card or by the other payment methods offered there. Payment is in euro; if the buyer’s card is linked to an account in another currency, the conversion and any fee for it are handled by the buyer’s bank. Card details are handled only by Stripe; we never see them.

We issue the invoice electronically, with the Billingo invoicing system, and send it by email.

6. Delivery

We deliver to: Hungary; the other member states of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden); and Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Switzerland and the United States. A buyer living in any EU member state can order on the same terms for delivery to any of the countries listed.

We send the books as tracked shipments: usually by registered post with Magyar Posta (the Hungarian postal service), sometimes with GLS or UPS. If you’d like the tracking number, email us. We don’t offer a separate environmentally friendly delivery option.

Delivery deadline: the books reach the buyer within 30 days of the contract. Usual delivery times from the order: 3–4 days in Hungary, 5–7 days elsewhere in Europe and 9–11 days outside Europe. These are for information; they are not deadlines.

If we don’t deliver within this deadline, the buyer can set an additional period; if we still don’t deliver, the buyer can withdraw from the contract. The buyer can also withdraw without an additional period if we have refused to deliver. On withdrawal, we refund the full amount paid, including postage, within 14 days.

The risk of loss of or damage to the books passes to the buyer when they (or a person they designate) receive the parcel. If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, please tell us: we’ll send it again or refund the price.

If a shipment comes back to us because the delivery address given was wrong or incomplete, we’ll get in touch, and the buyer pays the postage for sending it again. If the mistake was ours, we send it again at our own cost.

7. Right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal belongs to consumers: natural persons buying outside their trade, business, craft or profession.

Withdrawal information

Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods. If the books you ordered are delivered in separate parcels, the withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last of the goods.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Szedlmayer Ildikó, sole trader, 1036 Budapest, Evező utca 6., Hungary; phone: +36 70 337 5411; email: info@ildiwaterpolo.com) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (for example a letter sent by post or email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.

You can also exercise your right of withdrawal online at ildiwaterpolo.com/en/withdrawal/ (at the bottom of every page: “Withdraw from contract here”). If you use this online function, we will send you an acknowledgement of receipt of your withdrawal, stating its content and the date and time it was sent, on a durable medium (for example by email) without delay.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us (1036 Budapest, Evező utca 6., Hungary) without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.

You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Exception: the right of withdrawal does not apply to editions made specifically at the consumer’s request and clearly personalised (for example with a club’s name or logo) (section 29(1)(c) of Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.)). The standard editions offered on the website, printed to order, are covered by the right of withdrawal.

8. Warranty

The website sells new products only. We give no commercial guarantee, and no mandatory guarantee applies to books.

Legal warranty for defects (kellékszavatosság)

When can you claim? If Szedlmayer Ildikó, sole trader, performs defectively, you can claim against the seller under the Hungarian Civil Code.

What can you claim? At your choice, you can ask for repair or replacement, unless the remedy you choose is impossible or would cost the seller disproportionately more than the other. If you did not or could not ask for repair or replacement, you can ask for a proportionate price reduction or, as a last resort, withdraw from the contract. In a contract between a consumer and a business for the sale of goods, you cannot repair the defect yourself or have someone else repair it at the seller’s expense. You can switch from the remedy you chose to another one, but you bear the cost of switching unless it was justified or the seller caused it.

Before we repair or replace a book, we will tell you that you can choose between repair and replacement. If we repair the defect, the period for claiming under the legal warranty is extended once, by 12 months.

By when must you claim? You must notify us of the defect without delay after discovering it, and in any event within two months of discovering it. Please note that you can no longer claim under the legal warranty after two years from performance of the contract.

Against whom? You claim against the seller.

Other conditions? Within one year of performance, the only condition for claiming, besides notifying the defect, is that you show the product was supplied by Szedlmayer Ildikó, sole trader. After one year from performance, you must prove that the defect you discovered already existed at the time of performance.

Product warranty (termékszavatosság)

When can you claim? If a movable item (the “product”) is defective, you can, at your choice, claim under the legal warranty above or make a product warranty claim under the Hungarian Civil Code.

What can you claim? Under the product warranty, you can ask for the defective product to be repaired or replaced.

Against whom? Against the producer or distributor of the product (together: the “manufacturer”). For the books, this is also Szedlmayer Ildikó, sole trader.

When is a product defective? When it does not meet the quality requirements in force when it was placed on the market, or does not have the properties given in the manufacturer’s description.

By when? Within two years of the manufacturer placing the product on the market. After that, the right is lost.

Burden of proof: you must prove that the defect existed when the manufacturer placed the product on the market.

When is the manufacturer exempt? If it can prove that it did not manufacture or place the product on the market in the course of its business, or that the defect could not be detected by the state of science and technology when the product was placed on the market, or that the defect results from applying a law or a mandatory official requirement. Proving one of these is enough.

You can claim under the legal warranty against the seller and under the product warranty against the manufacturer for the same defect at the same time. If your product warranty claim succeeds, you can then claim under the legal warranty for the replaced product, or for the repaired part, only against the manufacturer.

The EU notice on the legal guarantee

EU notice on the legal guarantee: goods sold in the European Union come with at least two years of legal guarantee protection.

Making a warranty claim

You can report a defect by email, post or phone, using the contact details above; please include the order number and, if possible, a photo of the defect. We record the claim in writing and send you a copy. If we can’t say at once whether we can meet the claim, we’ll tell you our position within 8 days. We aim to repair or replace within 15 days. If a book has to be replaced, we pay the cost of sending it back.

9. Complaints and dispute resolution

You can make a complaint by email (info@ildiwaterpolo.com), by post (1036 Budapest, Evező utca 6., Hungary) or by phone (+36 70 337 5411). We look into oral complaints at once and put them right if we can; if you don’t agree with how we handled it, we record the complaint in writing. We reply to written complaints in writing, on the merits, within 30 days, giving reasons if we reject them. We keep complaints and our replies for three years.

If we can’t resolve your complaint, you can turn to the conciliation board (békéltető testület) competent for your place of residence in Hungary. If you don’t live in Hungary, you can turn to the Budapest Conciliation Board (Budapesti Békéltető Testület), competent for our registered office. The boards’ contact details:

We cooperate in the conciliation board’s procedure. You can also turn to the consumer protection authority, and you can go to court; as a consumer, also before the courts where you live.

The European Union’s online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025, so we don’t refer to it.

10. Governing law

The contract is governed by Hungarian law, in particular the Hungarian Civil Code (Act V of 2013) and Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.). If you are a consumer living in another EU member state, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection given to you by those provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence that cannot be derogated from by agreement.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms; changes do not affect contracts already concluded. Each order is governed by the version in force when it was placed, which we attach to the confirmation email.
